Remember October 19, 1987?
On “Black Monday”, October 19, 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) dropped some 500 points or close to 30%. That marked the largest percentage decline in stock market history. Such a drop in the market today would be around 3000 points. Unless you are at least 45 years old, you likely will not remember the event since you were just getting out of college.
